Your baby
has you.
You have
a midwife.

Coralmum is personalised postpartum monitoring with a named, registered midwife attached. The app learns your individual pattern. When it shifts, your midwife takes a look and decides what happens next.

  • Your own named midwife
  • Clinically governed
  • iOS and Android

Join any time in pregnancy. Coralmum is a monitoring and support service. It doesn't replace emergency services, your GP or NHS maternity care.

Postpartum care has a gap. It's bigger than it should be.

The first year after birth is when mothers need the most support and, too often, receive the least of it. The numbers behind that aren't small.

  1. 1 in 4

Women in England experience a perinatal mental health problem around 130,000 mothers a year.

  2. 2×

Black women in the UK remain more than twice as likely to die during pregnancy or in the year after birth than White women.

  3. 10% to 25%

Postnatal depression among new mothers in England, from 2014 to 2020, more than double in six years.

  4. 1 in 2

New parents say they've felt lonely since becoming a parent, with many feeling that way often.

Coralmum exists to close that gap: continuous personal monitoring, a named registered midwife who's actually looking, and postpartum support that's matched to who you are.

After birth, the days blur. The questions don't.

You're tired, you're constantly interrupted, and you're not always sure what's normal. Appointments matter, but they're a few minutes in a very long stretch of days and nights.

Coralmum is the steady bit in between.

  • Is this tiredness normal, or is it something more?

  • When did I last eat a proper meal?

  • Is this too small to bother anyone with?

  • Everyone says it gets easier…

Four small steps.
One steady midwife.

Set up while you're pregnant, then let the app do the quiet work while you do the loud, lovely, exhausting work of being a new mum.

  1. Step 1: Download the app

Set up takes a few minutes. You'll meet your named midwife and choose exactly what you're happy to share.

  2. Step 2: We learn your pattern

In the early weeks the app builds your personal baseline: what's usual for you, not a textbook average.

  3. Step 3: Check in, in a minute

A few tap-to-answer questions, one-handed. If you allow it, the app also reads the health data you permit from Apple Health or Google Health Connect.

  4. Step 4: Your midwife
    reviews what matters

When your pattern changes in a clinically relevant way, it reaches your named midwife. She looks at the whole picture and decides what happens next.

No wearable to buy. No forms to fill in at 3am.

Your pattern, not
anybody else's.

There's no league table and no score to beat. Coralmum learns what's usual for you, then helps your midwife know when it changes.

  • It starts with you. Sleep, energy, mood, feeding and physical recovery, in your own words and your own numbers.

  • Change is measured against your usual range. Never against other mums.

  • Gaps stay gaps. If data is missing, we show it as missing. We never quietly call it "fine".

This week, compared with your usual

Higher on the chart means: longer sleep. Lower means shorter sleep.

  • Your usual range
  • Within it
  • Outside it
  • No data

Two shorter nights than your usual range (Saturday and Sunday), and no data on Friday. Your midwife sees both, and the gap is shown as a gap.

Two people in your corner.

  • Clinical care

    Your named midwife

Reviews clinically relevant changes in your pattern and decides what happens next. Always a registered professional, always the same person.

  • Practical & cultural care

    Your postpartum support professional

Matched to your background and traditions, for the everyday things: cooking, rest, newborn care and company at home.

Every Coralmum mother has her own named, registered midwife. Technology points out where to look. Your midwife decides what it means and what to do.

  1. 1

    In the background

    Something shifts in your pattern

Coralmum notices a change against your own usual range.

  2. 2

    Reaches your midwife

A flag arrives, as a prompt to look

It's a nudge to review, never a verdict. It shows which signals contributed and why.

  3. 3

    Your midwife decides

    She reviews the full picture

She might message you, call you, arrange more support, or decide nothing is needed. It's always her call.

The technology directs attention. It never replaces clinical judgement.

Skipped a check-in? That's fine. We'll show it as skipped, never as a failure.

Join while you're pregnant.
We're there for the
first six months after.

Starting early means your midwife already knows you, and your baseline is ready, by the time baby arrives.

  1. During pregnancy

    Join and meet
    your midwife

Download the app, set your preferences and get introduced to your named midwife.

  2. Before the birth

    We get to know you

Your personal baseline begins to take shape from your check-ins and the health data you permit.

  3. Baby arrives

    Things change,
    and we expect that

Changes after birth aren't treated as "abnormal" just because they differ from pregnancy.

  4. First six months after birth

    Active care with
    your midwife

Ongoing personalised monitoring, with your midwife reviewing what's relevant.

Not pregnant any more? You can still start after birth. Your baseline builds from the day you begin, and your midwife knows it's early days.

Your health
information is treated
like it matters.

  • Your choices, kept separate

Agreeing to your care is one thing. Agreeing to research is another. You decide each one on its own, and can change your mind.

  • Only the right people

Your midwife sees what she needs for your care. Clinicians only see mothers on their own caseload.

  • Every decision leaves a trail

Clinical decisions are recorded with a time and the name of the midwife who made them.

  • Discreet by default

Notifications are gentle and infrequent. They don't put health details on your lock screen.

  • Clinically governed

The questions we ask and the rules we use are set and reviewed through clinical governance. Coralmum doesn't diagnose, and it never makes a decision for your midwife.

Before we begin

Two separate choices, explained in plain words.

Lets us use your information to help improve Coralmum over time. Saying no won't change your care.

What Coralmum
is, and what it isn't.

In an emergency, don't wait for us.

If you or your baby need urgent help, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E. Coralmum is not an emergency service.

Coralmum is

  • A monitoring and support service
  • Personalised to your pattern
  • Backed by a named, registered midwife
  • Clinically governed

Coralmum isn't

  • An emergency service
  • A diagnosis
  • A replacement for your GP, midwife team or NHS maternity care
  • An app that decides for your midwife
Does Coralmum diagnose anything?

No. Coralmum is a monitoring and support service. It points your midwife to changes that may be worth a look. Any clinical judgement is made by your midwife, not by the app.

What happens when my pattern changes?

A flag goes to your named midwife as a prompt to review. She looks at the contributing signals and decides whether to reassure you, message you, call you or arrange more support. You'll hear from her, not from an alarm.

What information does the app use?

Your short check-in answers, plus any health data you choose to share through Apple Health or Google Health Connect. You control the permissions. If something is switched off or missing, the app tells you and your midwife sees it too.

Do I need a wearable or any special equipment?

No. There's no custom hardware. Coralmum works with the health data already available on your phone through Apple Health or Google Health Connect, plus your check-ins.

When should I join?

Ideally during pregnancy, especially the third trimester, so your baseline is ready by the time baby arrives. You can also start after birth.

Is my data used for research?

Only if you say yes. Research and model-development consent is separate from consent to your care, and saying no doesn't change the care you receive.

Who can see my information?

Your named midwife and the clinicians involved in your care can see what they need to support you. Important actions are recorded with the time and the clinician's name.

Meet your midwife
before baby arrives.
